This is in downtown Columbus GA.
I took this picture on August 6, 2006.
A few days ago I found out that this is the future home
of more downtown loft apartments.

That would be a neat place to live because this place is along the Chattahoochie River and the downtown action on Saturday nights.

This is a small group located in Columbus, Georgia, who regularly meet to plan and investigate unexplained phenomenon in Columbus and the surrounding areas, including eastern Alabama.

Columbus Ga is home to many historic buildings, and battlefield sites.
Also home to many legends including, crybaby bridge and the children who were allegedly drowned there.

Also here is the site of where the Clapps Factory mill used to stand, another legendary place, it was destroyed during the civil war and rebuilt, then it finally saw its end in 1910, when it burned down.

This factory was supposely built on Indian burial grounds. The workers at the mill could purchase a burial plot to be buried at when that time came. From my research as many as 100 workers are buried there. During the civil war this area was a hot spot because the Union soldiers could get to Georgia near this area since it is located along the Chattahoochie River.
Confederate and Union soldiers are buried there....the average age of the soldier was 16-17.
The poor were also buried here.
So add the numbers and you sort of get an idea of how many are buried there.
From my own experience, the last time we went there August 4, 2006, we saw at least ten places where there was a body buried. It was nightime so we could not see much. The ground is sunken in the plots because the coffins were made of cheap wood that has rotted away. The tombstones with the information on the respected dead are in RUINS. They have crumbled, and have turned into smaller pieces...but if you look closely you can see a letter here and there.
